QUALIFICATION OF A CHRISTIAN

Believing that Jesus the Son of God, died and rose again and took away all our sins on the Cross of Calvary, and accepting Him as your LORD and Saviour, and Confessing that He is The Christ and the LORD qualifies you as a believer, but not necessarily a Christian.
In Galatians 2:20, Paul the apostle said "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.". Also in Rom 13:14, "He said But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." KJV
To qualify to be called a Christian, 'your life' must be a reflection of the Life of Jesus Christ.

ORIGIN OF THE WORD 'CHRISTIAN'
Jesus was well known during the course of His ministry here on earth, as seen in Matthew 4:24, "And His fame went throughout all Syria...". This is why there is no surprise that  the Apostles were first called Christians was in Antioch, a city in Syria (Acts 11:26). Why? They knew Jesus 'very well' and when the disciples came with the Gospel, they saw Christ exhibited in the Disciples. Also seen in Acts 26:28 where Agrippa said Paul had almost persuaded him to be a Christian, why? He saw Christ Exhibited through him.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CHRISTIANITY
From what we have uncovered above, we can see that Christianity is not a religion, but a working and loving relationship with God and humanity.
Many claim they are Christians when as a matter of fact they are not, just like a man can disguise himself and dress like a woman and claim to be a woman, when truly he isn't, so they claim to be Christians but you cannot say they resemble Christ by what they do.

In Luke 9:23-24, the Bible says: "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it."

And in Matt 5:16, Jesus said "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
To be a true Christian, on a daily basis, your lifestyle my be such as that of a man who is walking with Jesus Christ Presently.
You cannot claim to be a Christian when you do not walk in love like Jesus (Matt. 22:37-39), or when you are troublesome (Matt 5:39) or not walking with the power of the SPIRIT (Luke 4:14) or doing anything contrary to Jesus' teachings.
That is why it is very important to study the word of GOD daily (in entirety), and the gospels of Matthew to John, to learn first hand how Jesus Himself instructs us to live while we tarry here on earth.
GOD bless you!
